Starting college comes with a mix of emotions. It’s normal to feel anxious, excited, overwhelmed, and ecstatic all at the same time! Preparation is key to making the most of your college experience. To help out, we’ve put together a list of the top five items that every freshman needs, all available for purchase at the Bookstore. 

1.) Water bottle

A good quality water bottle is extremely useful for all sorts of scenarios. Maybe you have to take a sprint from Haley to your next class across campus. Or maybe you woke up a little later than you wanted and you need to take your morning coffee on the go. Whatever the scenario, a stainless steel tumbler is the best way to keep your drinks ice cold or piping hot throughout your busy day. Plus, not only are you doing a favor to yourself by staying hydrated, you are also helping the planet by eliminating waste from constant use of plastic water bottles. Don’t forget to choose one in your favorite color and add some cute stickers to make it uniquely your own! 

2.) Rain Jacket

If there’s one thing to know about Alabama weather, it’s that it is unpredictable. You never know when you could get caught walking in a storm, so come prepared by having a portable rain jacket stored in your bag! Rather than carrying around a bulky umbrella, this rain jacket easily folds up to store in small, tight spaces. Repping the Auburn colors and spirit is always an added bonus!

3.) Sweatshirt blanket

Whether you’re living on or off campus, a cozy blanket adds another level of comfort and coziness to your room. Freshman year is a big transition, and there is undoubtedly a lot of things to learn! One of the best parts about being an Auburn student: the football games! An Auburn football jersey is a great option for a comfortable and stylish gameday ‘fit. It’s extremely versatile for the freezing cold or hot early-August games. Don’t forget your orange and blue shaker and a clear bag and you’ll be all set for a great season.
